Featured Commission
In mid-May 2009 Inspired Artisans completed one of the largest commissions in the history of the studio. Located in Coram, New York , The Holy Sepulcure Cemetery is a gem for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre. This massive project included stained glass, mosaic and sculpture to complete an inspirational place of rest for many loved ones, family members and friends.
The Our Lady of the Rosary stained glass window’s are a total of 95 sq. ft. venetian stained glass mosaic’s. The windows represent the Four Mysteries of the Rosary mounted in niches on the chapelís exterior, providing a beautiful, colorful invitation to those approaching the chapel.
Along with the Our Lady of the Rosary Stained Glass, We installed over 800 sq ft of art glass consisting of 60 etched window panels with gold leaf. These panels represent the symbols of the Eucharist, the Baptism of Jesus, the Wedding Feast at Cana, the Proclamation of the Kingdom and the Transfiguration.
Inspired Artisans also created a beautiful three-dimensional Reredos wall depicting the scene at Calvary with Christ on the Cross flanked by Mary and John. This fantastic wood carving set with a marble backdrop brings a connection with the other pieces in the cemetery.
We found it a pleasure to work with the cemeterians of Long Island and turn these stories of Jesus life, death and resurrection into beautiful pieces of art that will stand as a testament and comfort to future generations.
